Our Gentle Years Yoga Class Online is a chair based yoga suitable for anyone who wishes to or needs to take their yoga practice a little more gently. This can include people with age related health conditions or health conditions that require a yoga practice that is modified.

Making Friends and Socialising
Each yoga class is followed by optional chat on Zoom for people to chat to one another. This is a chat facilitated by Yogasmiths yoga teachers, Paul and Steve, and is a wonderful opportunity to get to know each other.

HOW TO ATTEND / JOIN GENTLE YEARS YOGA ONLINE
You can purchase access to our Gentle Years Yoga online class at the Yogasmiths Shop by following the link.
Upon purchase a window will open with the meeting ID and password, please make a note of these. You will also receive an email with the Zoom meeting ID and password for you to use to access this online class. The email will also contain a link that you can click on that takes you directly to the yoga class.
You can download Zoom to your device, however you do not have to do this. You can attend the class just by clicking on the link that you receive. Here is a link to Zoom where you can find out more information about the software, which is easy-to-use and safe and secure – https://zoom.us/
Yogasmiths are British Wheel of Yoga and Yoga Alliance trained teachers, fully insured through the British Wheel of Yoga.
You get two friendly teachers for the price of one which ensures safe practice and plenty of attention and modifications are offered to ensure the classes are inclusive for all abilities.

What do I need to attend the Gentle Years Yoga Online class?
You will need a chair to sit on to attend this class. We suggest using a dining table chair. A chair with a firm base and upright back without arms.
In our classes we use a yoga mat, chair, yoga blocks, massage balls, scarves, bean bags and resistance bands. We have a stock of these items (excluding chairs) and can sell you a Gentle Years Yoga pack or individual items that you may need. However, do not worry if you do not have any of these items as they are not essential for attendance.
Make do with what is to hand!
If you do not have any of the equipment mentioned above, you can be creative!
We suggest the following alternatives;
A yoga mat – this is recommended but not essential. You just need to ensure that the surface you are practicing on is not slippy. We suggest practicing barefooted.
A yoga block – a thick heavy book
A scarf – a handkerchief or tissue or tea towel
A bean bag – a pair of rolled up socks
A resistance band – a dressing gown cord, or belt or a towel
A massage ball – a spiky washing machine ball or a tin of beans. One of our students used a large medication bottle and another used a spiky back scratcher / massager.
You may wish to have a cushion to hand and a couple of tins (metal food tins in place of bean bags), also a dressing gown cord or a belt (in place of a resistance band).
